17th August
Pre event drive to Lands End
The support car left Manchester at 05:00 and met up with a few of the participants in Slough for a fry up.
Most of the LEJOGers then formed a small convoy for the drive down to the hotel near Lands End.
The support crew were called into action just after they arrived at the hotel, 30 miles back towards Exeter, one of the cars had developed an electrical problem and had cut out. The problem was soon sorted with a little help from the 7 Workshop over the phone. Thanks Chris! The rest of the cars made the hotel at around 6pm. However, the car that had the problem was now dropping oil... car up on axel stands and a short time later was diagnosed with a split oil pressure sender line. This was fixed and hopefully should be ok for the rest of the trip.
Saturday 18th August
Saturday morning all the Caterham's arrived safe and well at Lands End. Conditions are not exactly favorable with horizontal rain for the start of the event but the lejogers remain in high spirits for the start of the event.
Everyone gathers for a photo at the start (to follow) and then the event officially got under way with everyone crossing the start line on their way to John O' Groats.
Sunday 19th August
Following a leisurely breakfast everyone set off for Edinburgh at 9am. We took in the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District en route. Although the distance covered today was much shorter than yesterday we still managed to arrive slightly late, however we did have a great time on some amazing roads and everyone had chance to give their car a good workout.
Monday 20th August
Everyone set off from a fairly sunny Edinburgh today - destination John O'Groats.300 miles later everyone arrived, with a gale blowing and temps down around 10c before windchill it was not exactly ideal conditions, but we were used to it by now!!
Everyone arrived safe and well, almost on time too :)
We managed to get some good photos and a couple of cars upto the John O'Groats sign post.
Tomorrow we cruise along Loch Ness and head for home.. most people will have covered around 1500 miles now. The support car has clocked well over 2200 miles since Friday, with 500+ still to go!
